About the Power of Suggestion
Everyone knows the phrase "the power of suggestion."  We have all had the experience of someone's words and suggestions making a powerful negative or positive difference in our lives.  Many of your beliefs about yourself may have been determined when you were young.  You might not know that when you are a child, your brain generally cycles at a lower frequency, very much like the slower speed of the brain in the hypnotic state.  

At this speed, your mind is very likely to accept suggestions--to believe and act on what you are told.  If you were repeatedly told negative things as a child, such as "you're stupid" or "you never finish anything" or "you'll never amount to anything", you may be unconsciously fighting those negative messages every time you try to use your intelligence, finish something, or succeed.  It is almost as if you have a computer with a "default setting" that makes a "pop-up" message just when you don't want it.  

The Deep State of Relaxation Known as Hypnosis--Myths and Facts
The deep relaxation of hypnosis allows you to release your old suggestions and replace them with new, positive messages that you have decided to adopt about yourself.  It is like resetting your computer to different and more effective default settings.

Many people believe being hypnotized means that someone puts you to sleep and manipulates your mind.  In reality, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and involves a conscious decision to get into a relaxed state in which it is easy to accept suggestions.  No one can make you do anything with hypnosis that is against your principles.  You are in control. free to accept any suggestion that benefits you, and to reject those that do not.  Another mistaken belief about hypnosis is that you might be so relaxed that you would not be able to handle an emergency. However, this is far from true. Even if you have reached a state of deep relaxation during your listening session, if you need to stop in the middle for an emergency or any other need, you will be able to arouse yourself easily, immediately and completely.

Listening to the Series
These programs are designed to facilitate your goals.  You may listen to them as often as you wish--more than once a day for weeks or months if you have the time and intention to do it.  Each time you listen adds to the power of the new suggestions you have chosen.  To get off to a good start, it is best to listen at least once a day for at least 21 of 30 consecutive days.  As you listen to your new messages each day, they help you to reaffirm your own value as a human being.  You are more in control of the basic messages in your "other than conscious" mind.  The new suggestions can become your underlying support for a more loving, kind, happy, healthy and successful life.

Guidelines for Using the CDs

You may listen to these recordings on a portable or home system, with or without headphones. It is most helpful to sit or lie comfortably in an environment that is free from distractions. Be sure to adjust the volume to your own comfort level.

You may need to interview several practitioners to find one who has the necessary training, has worked through their own past trauma, and is a compassionate, kind human being. You also may be helped by gentle movement therapies, such as Feldenkrais therapy.

Avoid listening to these recordings while driving a motor vehicle, operating heavy equipment, or performing any task that requires your attention and concentration.
